Investing in Lumber
Timber is the third largest commodity market after oil and gas. Nevertheless, only a small number of very well-informed large companies are investing in timber and just in fast-growing or expensive woods such as eucalyptus and teak. Such investments have over decades enjoyed high returns. The foundation for successful projects are adequately large, high-quality and affordable land and a favorably good climate.
By 2014, Paraguay had become the most deforested country in the world. It had to stop, so alternative concepts and projects came to life. Forest plantations will in the future cover a large percentage of demand in timber, contributing all over the world and specifically to preserving virgin tropical forests.
In recent years, the first forest reclamation projects have begun appearing in Paraguay, proving to be particularly desirable due to the ideal soil and climate conditions there.
Political stability, which has survived Paraguay’s political transitions on the continent, has made investment in the local economy possible for more than 70 years. Favorable legislation and conditions in Paraguay, known as the Switzerland of South America, have attracted foreign investors to the country.
Welcome to South America Real Foresting Group
We have been offering direct investment in real estate and in agricultural and forestry assets since 2010. In South America, you can choose between purchasing or renting land in Paraguay and Bolivia. Our organization today manages over 19,000 hectares of fertile land and pastures, planting around four and a half million trees and hundreds of hectares of sugar cane and rice as well as raising over 4,000 beef cattle. We have experience in the South American real estate, having been in the business since 2006.
In recent years, the focus has centered predominantly toward forestry.
Our sustainable forest management program concentrates on fast-growing deciduous eucalyptus and teak trees. We were one of the first to bring Paraguay high-quality Brazilian grafts and a system of effectively planting them. Effective management and short turnaround times guarantee attractive yields while taking environmental and social considerations into account.
Our afforestation projects are:
– economical: Highly profitable and promising investments in renewal raw materials.
– environmental: Carbon offsetting through afforestation. Protecting indigenous forests.
– social: Creating jobs in Paraguay and Bolivia. Providing assistance through education and training of graduates.
